"I think the role of the artist is to reflect the times. Simple!! That is my opinion. We need artist more than ever before today in South Africa. South Africa is full of subject matters. Those scandals that make us united in a cause beyond individual thought. We need artist at the forefront.

What gives me energy is the fact that I'm still practicing art, that art gives me the intellect to see because people are very lazy to look. I think it's one of arts' gift."

"The work I produced was taken from one of the ideas I'm dealing with at the moment. I was looking at Protest, and how it has always been a South African thing. Toyi Toyis are everywhere in this country, every week it is another form of protest. South Africa is a protest nation."

"I choose the location on the frequency of people passing by. It was a convenient location for me because I live close and it is a busy street. It is a passage to Johannesburg's biggest taxi ranks. So it is a good location for the masses to engage with the work. I want people to take what they can from it, it's art. All I can say to you is for you to open your eyes wide open."
